Mountain Leader Refresher: One day course

During this one refresher we will cover navigation, as well as the Hazards of Steep ground section of the Mountain Leader syllabus. This day is ideal for people who would like to improve their confidence before Assessment.

WHAT WILL WE COVER?

• Advice on Assessment process.
• Navigation techniques and tactics. We will pay particular attention to simplifying navigation.
• Relocation strategies.
• Confidence roping.
• Anchor choice.
• Use of a rope to assist a group member in ascent and descent.
• Use of a rope to assist the leader in descent.
• Time for any other questions.

I keep numbers small so that there is time to chat individually and answer your questions, not only about the syllabus but also the Assessment process.

The day is aimed at those of you who have already completed a Mountain Leader Training course but if this doesn’t apply to you please contact me and we can chat about the suitability of the course for you.
