Learn to Lead Climb

We will guide you through both the technical and mental aspects of taking that next step to lead climbing during this two day course, all the while with your expert instructor close at hand. With so many crags to choose from in the Spectacular Eryri/Snowdonia National Park, we are sure that we can find the right venues to suit your needs.

What is covered on the learn to lead course?

As with all of our courses the teaching will be geared to suit individual needs so course content may vary. Examples of aspects covered are:

• Equipment.
• Communication at the crag.
• Gear placement and removal.
• Belaying a leader.
• Efficient movement/rest opportunities.
• Climbing etiquette.
• Racking gear.
• Safe leading practises.
• Simulated leading (on a top rope).
• Leading with instructor close by (if appropriate).

Dates:

Please contact us to discuss dates. Two people are needed in order to allow for lead climbing tuition as one of you will be belaying when the other is leading. If you do not have a climbing partner please let me know as I can often match people up who have the same aspirations.

Is the learn to lead climb course suitable for me?

Reasonable fitness.
Previous experience seconding rock climbs.

If you would prefer the flexibility of booking a private course the daily rate for 1 or 2 people is also £250.
